Continuing to focus on the abstract, I began composing solely with shapes.   Whether taking the form of aggregates or pictoral scenes, these compositions were driven by the interplay among shapes.  Of course, color figured centrally here - as it has in all my work before and since - in this case, reinforcing shape relationships and establishing mood.
